PREPARING AN ABSTRACT FOR THE E-MRS FALL MEETING 2002

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION EXTENDED UNTIL -- June 10, 2002

ABSTRACT TITLE GOES HERE IN BLOCK LETTERS ON THE VERY TOP OF THE BOX

A. B. Author, Dept. Chemistry, Big University, 12345 Nice St., Anytown, 23456 Poland; and C. D. Second, MicroMatic Ltd, 234 Grande Platz, Thetown, 34567 Germany

This set of instructions is given in the style and format to be used by authors in preparing abstracts. Follow this example in preparing your abstract. Use Times Roman 12point font. Set up the title in capital letters. Use bold font for authors and their addresses. Underline the presenting author. Abstract reproduction will be done by photographing the copy of abstract as received, and reducing it in size by 33 percent. You may submit your abstract on the Abstract Model form (see below) on heavy, white bonded paper. You can also submit abstract by e-mail (MS WORD, no figures or formulae -- plain text only). The abstract has to fit within a square 12.7cm (5 in.) by 12.7 cm (5 in.). You also need to provide additional information about the Contact Author and Presenting Author (if different). Please use the template which suites you best:

A4 abs-bothA.doc abs-bothA.sdw abs-bothA.pdf abs-bothA.ps
Letter(US) abs-both.doc abs-both.sdw abs-both.pdf abs-both.ps
These are 2 pages:
  1. First page has a text frame 5"x5" for your abstract,
  2. Second has entries for contact information and provides you with instructions on submitting the abstract.

  3.

To ensure that that your presentation is placed on the program after being accepted, please register. The registration form is provided below:

A4 reg_symA.doc reg_symA.sdw reg_symA.pdf reg_symA.ps
Letter(US) reg_sym.doc reg_sym.sdw reg_sym.pdf reg_sym.ps
You can also use the HTML version: reg_sym.html
Thank you for your contribution, and see you at the meeting.

To have your abstract OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED, YOU HAVE TO SEND IT TO THE ADDRESS PROVIDED ON THE ABSTRACT FORM before the deadline. However, session organizers would be grateful if you also submitted your abstract below as soon as possible. It will help us a lot in planning the symposium, look for possible sponsors, and it will definitely attract participants. We will put the abstracts on the Web (we will not share your e-mail address, though...). An added benefit for you, as an author, is that you will know much earlier if your presentation is accepted. Remember to submit your abstract officially to the E-MRS Meeting Organizers on the form provided (you can do it via e-mail!!!).

To help the session organizers, just paste your abstract below and provide contact information. You can enter plain text or HTML. You can alternatively send your abstract to session organizers as an e-mail attachment. Use the address: cracow@asdn.net or cracow@AtomicScaleDesign.Net. Since we want to put the abstracts on the Web, please do not use MegaByte long picture files, i.e., sending your abstract as a bit-mapped graphics file is discouraged.

The author, who is a contact person for the abstract, also needs to fill the Preregistration form (so we do have the necessary contact information).

The book of abstract will be available to participants at the meeting. We will also put the abstract of the Symposium on the web. Moreover, the presentations at the E-MRS meetings are traditionally published by Elsevier in book format. Therefore, please be prepared to write your presentation as a paper and have it ready for the meeting. Note that book chapters can be often made more detailed than regular publications and it is an excellent opportunity to describe methodology, background, and provide examples of applications.
